Vacation Bible School (VBS) is a fun, interactive place for children to learn more about God and His Word, through engaging and memorable activities. It’s a great opportunity for our church to come together – students, parents, volunteers, everyone. With so many volunteers, we are able to welcome children and families from the community to join us as we learn new songs and review timeless Bible lessons. We use a Holy Land Adventure based curriculum from Group Publishing. Our VBS is a uniquely family event, so please join us!
Annually, in December, Our Savior Church presents a Living Nativity celebrating the birth of our Savior. Members portray the various characters from the Christmas story. To bring to life the Biblical account of the birth of Jesus, animals are provided by the May Farm. Music and narration provide the background, for a full sensory experience. There are 2 performances on each of 3 consecutive evenings. The dates for Christmas 2016 presentations are December 13, 14, 15 at 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM. The community is invited to watch the presentation and interact with the cast and animals after each performance.
The Fall Festival is our most popular family night of the year. As an alternative to secular Halloween festivities, we offer a warm place to have dinner among friends and neighbors while providing a safe location for our children to enjoy games and activities. The dinner is a potluck, provided by our members, and both children and adults are encouraged to participate in the various activities and games.
Both LWML mission groups participate in an annual prayer service and dinner honoring the Military Personnel in our congregation and community. It is our way of honoring and saying thank you to our military community for their service to our country. This activity is held during the month of May.
